Listened to the extremely well narrated audio on storytel and didn't want to come out of the fictional world into my real life. Telling Tales is the second book in Ann Cleeves’ Vera Stanhope series – which is now a major ITV detective drama starring Brenda Blethyn as Vera . The plot was more powerful but the pacing for television better (at least for tv--who wants to wait for half the story before Vera appears?There was more information about her in this book than the first, but I haven’t been “grabbed” by this character yet.
