I'd probably prefer to get one lube for both my road and mountain bike, but would get separate ones if it's beneficial. I don't necessarily need the fastest lube on the market, but would like one that protects my drivetrains well and is fairly low maintenance after initial installation. Given where, what and when I ride, dry lube is probably the better fit. I jetwashed my muc off lubed chain in a race last night and it was fine. Still lubed this morning. I use the posh blue Sky stuff, but the ordinary dry comes out on my other bikes. Much better than White Lightning, that disappeared at the slightest hint of a cloud! I used some Finish Line Ceramic for a while, was never impressed, seemed to end up a bit messy (albeit the residue it left was ‘dry’) and the drivetrain was always a bit noisy.

I was a devout R&R gold user and ran a long term test using the stuff according to their instructions which don't mention cleaning – just flooding on and wiping off – versus the same lube with a weekly clean in one of those round brushy things (two different bikes run concurrently). Chain wear measured by steel rule.
