About this deal

This book is about Rook wanting to learn about magic, even though he doesn't have any. He is extremely smart and creates an interactive app to help him find the magical lines that power witches magic. He calls it the Spell Binder. Rook goes to Antonia's place of business to try to get a job working with her.

Essentially, I love books and I love being around people who love books - that's how I met Sumaira!

This has been one of my favorite Pike books. Not only was this entertaining and thrilling to the end but it included many different horror elements in a very creative story. Each month is particular in its relevance to that month with information, crafts to do, history, rituals, etc. It’s truly comprehensive, and Athena Perrakis delivers more information than you can imagine.

This book is about found family, first crushes, first loves and discovering yourself. And if that's not enough, it includes magic! I really enjoyed this and highly recommend it. The magic was a lot of fun! Hexes, curses, and other spells, more on the silly side, rather than heavy. Very mild spoiler, *SPOILER* one character is turned into a cat! Cat Sun was delightful, chasing down lizards and whatnot. Imagine how great it would be if the person you were crushing on temporarily became an adorable fluffy cat. *END SPOILER* Overall, a solid read and another great entry into the F.T. Lukens catalogue. I didn't love it quite as much as their other works, but it was still great and a fun use of my time. This literary work is an excellent read for those interested in spell casting. The plot and events that unfold are rooted in real-life scenarios, helping all readers (including witches) connect. Aside from the spells, the book also describes many ways to cast your spells, how to make incense cones, botanical infusions, and various rituals.

I was also pleasantly surprised by the solution to the main problem... but I won't spoil that here. Content wise, Spell Bound is another winner. An urban fantasy set in a world like our own, except magic is known and commonplace. Jason's new girlfriend Cindy believes in his innocence. That is until more people start to get killed in the same way and Cindy starts to have her suspicions. Another great thing about the spells in this book is that a lot of spells can be used individually or as a piece of a bigger spell.

I also just have to say that when applied to real life, that particular quote speaks volumes to me, and truly means the WORLD, as someone who has AuADHD, anxiety, & bipolar II (depressive bipolar)… which getting a little personal: in regards to this, I’m speaking up & saying sometimes I majorly fail socially, causing miscommunication, or a need to not talk at all, or sometimes just ramble & don’t make sense at all, which obviously affects friendships as a whole, greatly. I can have the best intentions, and be genuine AF, but somehow still manage to screw things up royally? There’s more to that, and I think some people are just wired to assume that you’re being negative when you’re simply trying to COMMUNICATE, and boy do none of my illnesses help THAT sort of situation…) So this quote… just means the world. Knowing I have those sorts of friends in my life that understand as I sometimes fumble through life… well, they change everything <3

Because of the broad and diverse content, you’ll find something for almost every situation. This makes it a must-have book for a new witch. 4. The Book of Blessings and Rituals VIEW PRICE The magical world that F.T. Lukens has created here is super interesting. There is a rich history that is filled with scandalous moments. We slowly learn about them along the way. Antonia is one of the strongest witches around. She is not to be messed with and she knows it. But this has to balanced out with the magical policing done by The Consortium. When u kill her she drops a "shard with loah symbols" but it doesnt appear in your journal, thous you cant read it. Its safe to assume that this shard would have the code. I admire Rook SOMUCH because after having magic ripped away from him, after being surrounded by it his whole life, when his grandmother died, he was left with well, nothing magical. He made his way & is a genius, especially with electronics and technology, and makes a FANTASTIC, erm, very much magically illegal device that maps ley lines & senses magic, called the Spell Binder! He worked SO hard on it, and for someone with no magic, you have to admit that is incredibly impressive. I will always slam a request/read button for F.T. Lukens, no doubt about it. It's well written in typical F.T. Lukens fashion, and the bond between the characters was fun. It's the epitome of the happy person likes grumpy person trope, but tropes are tropes for a reason and I'm always here for them when done well.
