Maybe her grief has got her to the point of focusing on Ben and her grandsons, after all, apart from her job, who else needs her. The book is divided into three parts. Part one is her as a normal teen girl/pathological liar. Part two is her using her compulsive lying to keep her real secret: she's a werewolf. And I'll get to part three later. The title really sums up the whole book.... someone is a Liar..... But who and why....and how far will they go!!!! Remmi was fifteen when she last saw her mother. Their parting came in the aftermath of a terrible night in the Mojave desert when Remmi—who’d secretly stowed away in Didi’s car en route to meet her crush, Noah Scott—instead became witness to a mysterious rendezvous. Didi handed over one of her newborn twins to a man Remmi didn’t recognize. Subsequently, Didi disappeared, as did Remmi’s other

Liar by Lesley Pearse | Waterstones

years later Remmi is passing the Montmort Tower Hotel when she sees a woman on the 20th floor dressed as Marilyn Monroe, standing very close to the ledge. When she jumps to her death Remmi instantly thinks it is her missing mother. I took one evening to get to 90% and finished it off the following morning whilst eating my breakfast, this was definitely a book I personally couldn't put down. There were some things I didn't doubt or question in the story. Micah's love for Zach, for example. Or her feelings of loneliness. But I can't ignore what I do doubt: Is the Actual Real Truth the truth? Can I believe? I felt the foundation of the book crumbled for me towards the end, after everything was revealed, and it affected the way I felt about this story as a whole. So i got this book after going to ALA With bbya, and it was the first book that I read because the woman who gave it to me made it sound AMAZING. She said that there were twists and turns that would make you wonder what REALLY happened, and when she said that, I was expecting something totally different from what I got. I was expecting her to say something like, "didnt secretly date him. I secretly stalked him." or, "I'm the real killer." Just, something like that. Bt instead, she says she's a werewolf, and I'm like "Holy cheerios where did THAT come from!" Something was terribly wrong. Remmi confronts her mother but gets no answers from her. Was Remmi’s mom trying to sell one of her siblings to the stranger? Later, when her mother doesn't return home, Remmi finds herself with a baby and doesn't know where to go.

Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture and K.L. Slater for an ARC of this novel in exchange for an honest review. This book is perfection. Seriously. Look "perfection" up on a dictionary and they should have a picture of Liar as an example. This book transcends all genres it is supposed to be to become more than a YA book with a really engrossing main character; more than a thriller with a really confusing ending; this is 21st century literature at its best. It may seem like I'm exaggerating but I really do mean it.This psychological thriller is based around the workings of a family and the family dynamic. When I first started reading the mystery/thriller genre I always thought that a thriller based around a family set-up would be very boring - no killing, kidnapping etc and mainly mind games between a family. I now know that these mind games and psychological manipulation can be just as riveting as any other thriller novel. LIAR explores the question of how far an individual would go to protect their family and loved ones - would you kill for them if you had to? Now at 35, Remmi is living in San Francisco, and a tell-all book has just been published about DiDI’s life. But no one talked to Remmi about it. Coincidentally, Remmi is on her way to talk to the publisher, when a woman leaps from the ledge of a balcony. Remmi’s first glimpse of the jumper shakes her to her core. The broken woman bore a strong resemblance to DiDi. She was dressed in DiDi costume and wig. But it wasn’t DiDi. So where was DiDi and where has she been for the past twenty years?
