For preterm babies prescribed both SMA Gold Prem ® 2 powdered formula and Gaviscon Infant, we advise parents to make up the Gaviscon Infant separately and give it to baby part way through each prepared feed of SMA Gold Prem ® 2 powder. To avoid mixing issues, do not mix Gaviscon Infant directly with SMA Gold Prem ® 2 powdered feed. However, you can mix Gaviscon Infant directly with SMA Gold Prem ® 2 liquid. Your baby should have around 6 wet nappies a day from a few days after the birth. Nappies should be wet with clear or pale yellow urine, or feel heavy. IMPORTANT NOTICE: Breast milk is best for babies and breastfeeding should continue for as long as possible. Infant formulae are suitable from birth when babies are not breastfed and should only be used on the advice of a doctor, midwife, health visitor, public health nurse, dietitian or pharmacist, or other professionals responsible for maternal and child care.
