Now, everyone is free, … for me state or not state company is not the point : high level of national incomes are used for hegemony inside and outside the country, many many dangerous weapons, cameras systems, softwares and systems to control people, spying, … list should be very long. I do not want to help them to build the chains they will put around me. This comparison was done at 0.7 m focus distance, you may get slightly different results at other distances. Sharpness infinity (42mp Sony A7rII) Artist lenses tend to be softer but have perhaps heavy vignetting or interesting fall off. I love the mentioned TTArtisan 50mm f0.95 lens for this look especially.

You may actually prefer manual focus and the feel of an all-metal-constructed solid lens. There is certainly a tactile difference and it would be great if you could try all options before making a decision. In the center the resolution at infinity is quite okay at f/0.95, but we can clearly see some glow (spherical aberration) and also a small amout of purple fringing. Midframe and corners are nothing to write home about.

It's sharp enough at large apertures in the center, but softer in the corners, all of which which improve as stopped down. It's not for astronomy or scientific use; it's an effects lens for lovers of great bokeh. Things can get very far out of focus at f/0.95, which is why people buy this lens..The obvious question to Sony users is: how does the TTArtisan 50mm 0.95 compare to the slightly cheaper Zhong Yi 50mm 0.95 III? The TTArtisan 50mm f/0.95 protrudes into the 50mm viewfinder frame-lines. I personally haven’t been bothered that much by this. But this could seriously be annoying to you if you don’t like seeing too much of your lens in the viewfinder. But hey, what did you expect from such a big lens… When they announced its upcoming TTArtisan 50mm f/0.95 lens, it made lots of noise. Can a Chinese brand realistically propose an usable alternative to the holy grail Noctilux?! Would it be even usable wide open considering its price? I decided to give it a go and see how it performs. You will find below my honest review about it after some months of use. As usual, I will (almost) only speak about real life things that matter out in the field. I don’t do test charts.

Shot wide open at f/1.2. Uncropped frame. Cornersharpness is decent even at long ranges. (open image in new tab for full size) It exhibits a little bit of optical vignetting, so you can get a bit of swirl at the right distances, and the shape of the Christmas…sorry…bokeh balls will look a bit more cat-eyed towards the edges of the frames. To use a smattering of lens clichés, the TTArtisan 50mm f/0.95 is an ultra-fast character lens that is able to render dramatic 3D-looking images with a medium-format look. It is sharp (in center), contrasty (when stopped down a bit), and has accurate colors (except at wider aperture, where things cool considerably). Same holds true with the sun close to a corner of the frame. Leica M10 | TTArtisan 50mm 0.95 | f/0.95Having a digital Leica M the calibration should have been a doddle, and this is where reality and expectation diverged. Quite considerably. The light-vacuuming ability of the TTArtisan effectively compensates for the rather sad maximum usable ISO of 640 on the Leica M8. If you would like the option of shooting at lower ISO (film or digital), this lens will get you there. I made images with this lens in near darkness that just would not be possible or usable with any other lens, and in these conditions the worst of its characteristics, such as CA, are less of a concern.
