Description

One of the items you’ll want to have handy if you plan to use the machine throughout the day is a battery charger. What about an extra cup? If you use an 18V LXT battery on a full charge, a brew cycle will take approximately five minutes. However, the brewing capacity (5oz per cup) differs depending on the battery you use. Makita doesn’t sell extra coffee cups as separate items, so you’ll need to experiment to find one that fits well. Whether you’re camping in the woods, setting up construction in the middle of nowhere, or simply not wanting to miss the sunrise in your garden, it’s one of those must-have products you don’t know you’ve been missing, yet.

The designers clearly had coffee nerds in mind when they created this device. It was made compact enough to be easily stored and also brought with it on the road. No matter where you are, this device can be used to brew quality pour-over with a precision that you might only find in specialty coffee shops. They also made it extremely easy to use, especially for beginners who aren’t confident enough to tinker with coffee metrics, by including an automatic mode that takes care of everything at the push of a button. Smartly designed:Fully compatible with Makita’s batteries, compact design and easy to carry, and includes a coffee cup that protects you from spills.

Technical info

This portable coffee maker from AICOK is marketed heavily as the best espresso machine for camping or travel… and we’re actually inclined to believe them. However, the Makita stands alone as a cordless coffee maker for brewing drip coffee with a battery, which makes us think there is a gap in the market for a rival from Milwaukee, DEWALT, or Bosch to produce a viable alternative. Who Is The Makita Coffee Maker Suitable For? Of course, you can’t expect the battery to last for too long. A single charge is enough to make 1 to 3 cups of coffee, depending on the battery strength. Battery not included; could be a pretty heft extra expense, plus, Makita encourages you to buy their branded batteries And don’t forget that this is a portable coffee maker. Plastic is the way to go if you want to keep it lightweight.

Of course, if you follow the Makita recommendation, your brew will be rather thin. But if you go with your own preferences, you can make a really nice drink. What’s also great is that you don’t need paper filters for ground coffee! The machine comes with a permanent filter, which is durable and easy to clean. You’re both saving money and the environment by switching from paper to a permanent one. While the Makita DCM501Z promises a hot cup of coffee, we noticed that finished brews were around 176 F° or 80 C°. While this is still quite impressive for a battery-operated coffee machine, it’s somewhat disappointing if you were expecting something piping hot. It gets even worse if you drink your coffee with milk, as this further lowers the temperature of an already somewhat tepid cup of coffee. It’s also worth pointing out that this coffee machine works with pods and ground coffee, so bring along your best grinder so that you can enjoy the freshest possible cup of Joe. A 3.0 Ah battery will brew two cups of coffee. However, a 4.0 Ah battery will brew two and a half cups of coffee. Better still, a 5.0 Ah battery will brew three cups of coffee before it needs recharging. We took two points off: one for the intensity of the brew, and one for the quantity of the brew. Build Quality – 4/5 Expensive, especially when compared to similar models such as the Linkind automatic pour-over coffee maker. We definitely love the design of the Mini Hand Coffee Machine and it is fast and easy to use. However, it is another one of those machines that need hot water to be added before it can properly do its job. While battery-powered coffee makers offer a lot of convenience for those who are constantly on the road or who just like to enjoy a cup of quality coffee when they travel, they might not be suitable for every circumstance. Often limited by brewing capacity, battery life, and the inability to boil water, there are a number of alternative products you can try should you find yourself frustrated by one of the aforementioned limitations. Moka Pot The cordless Makita coffee maker appeases the needs of coffee lovers in the trades who work with Makita tools daily. The Makita 18V coffee maker is the most used battery-powered coffee pot with a battery attached and slid into the 18V setting.

However, because the battery doesn’t come with the machine, you’ll have to buy it separately if you don’t use other Makita products with the same battery. If you use one of the batteries on another tool, you can simply slide it into the coffee maker when that tool is not being used. However, they are quite expensive, so keep this in mind when factoring in the overall cost. Plus, with the fast charging capabilities of the 18-volt LXT and 12-volt CXT lithium-ion batteries, you don’t need to wait too long until this product is ready for the next round. However, keep in mind that you also need a Makita battery to make it work. If you already own Makita cordless tools, then you have one that you can use for the coffee maker as well. The Makita DCM501Z 18V LXT/ 12V max CXT Lithium-Ion Cordless Coffee Maker allows you to do just that. Pay close attention to brew sizes. If you’re already planning to buy a battery-operated coffee maker, then you have already made peace with the fact that it is going to be small. However, some of these machines have incredibly small brew sizes that not everyone will be a fan of. For example, the Linkind Automatic Pour Over Coffee Maker can only deliver 4 ounces of coffee. That means that as long as you make sure you have fully charged batteries, you can keep using your coffee machine to make great coffee for as long as you want. I’m really amazed at how simple this coffee maker is to use. In fact, I’d go as far as to say that it’s probably easier than a machine you might have at home.

The new model comes with two battery ports: one port for 10.8-volt and 12-volt CXT batteries, and another for the 14.4-volt and 18-volt LXT batteries. A neat cover keeps the undesired battery port protected from dust and debris. Repeat this process after every use of the machine to ensure the long-term maintenance of your coffee machine and to preserve the high-quality taste of your ground coffee or coffee pods. This helps to prevent staining the machine with coffee or leaving any ground aftertaste. ( 2) Value For Money – 4/5 The exterior of this coffee maker is made of plastic. But before you start thinking – that’s not the most durable choice of material – I’ll stop you right there.

Available version(s)

The company that made the mini hand coffee machine, TTBF, definitely favored size, compactness, and ease of use over quality when designing this little device. While it’s able to make a somewhat decent cup of coffee, it’s definitely aimed at a more coffee-illiterate group of consumers. The automatic functionality is great, and making a cup of coffee is as simple as adding coffee to the filter basket, pouring in water, and pressing a button. It’s also refreshing to see an environment-first approach, as this mini hand coffee machine is made of materials designed to be reused and last for quite some time.
