The GROOVEBOX series continues to evolve, and one of the latest tools for advanced performance is Scene Chain. Learn to maximize the feature. First of all, I can’t help but feeling that the overall sound is a lot more limited. While the synth “machines” are tweakable, I find it hard to dial in really lush sounds. There is no chorus, no gritty distortion (the overdrive is actually pretty gentle), there’s no compressor, there are no lofi effects, and there’s no way to layer any sound with samples. The biggest omission of all is some form of polyphony, and an arpeggiator. I owned a Digitone last year and loved the way it implemented this. It’s frustrating that Syntakt doesn’t offer the same voice stealing and arp functionality as the Digitone. The Digitone also has a great chorus. Roland MC-101: Changing Clip Direction Nevertheless, I have been still searching for a truly portable option. Well this device is just perfect for this and in many ways its beats the two time more expensive Elektron Syntakt while overall leaving too much to be desired from Elektron's workflow. No comparison with Volcas in terms of workflow, even though Volcas sound is unique. Designed and built by V-MODA in collaboration with Roland, the Crossfade M-100 AIRA is an audiophile-quality headphone for users of Roland’s AIRA range of electronic instruments and effects. View ProductUnsurprisingly there's a ton of classic Roland sounds, both as virtual analogue recreations and sample-based patches. There's a particularly strong showing for the various flavours of Jupiters and Junos, MKSes and JXs. In fact the VA oscillator has a Juno mode, as does the filter. The Juno chorus is also recreated in the effects section, along with some other classic Boss and Roland effects like the CE‑1. Roland’s ZEN-Core Synthesis System works across hardware and software, delivering decades of genre-defining sounds with the power to shape them in new and exciting ways. Roland MC-101: Sequencing Melodies and Notes This may be a slightly ridiculous comparison and choice, but I currently own both the Syntakt and the MC-101 and I’ve decided I need to downsize my hardware setup and focus more on music making again by leveraging the DAW as the main production center instead of my MPC. I had a really good run with the MPC but I feel done with that now. I also have a couple of other hardware synths that are just collecting dust and probably need to go as well.

Over the last few decades, as old and new electronic instruments makers alike returned to analogue technology, Roland hardly blinked. Firmly committed to exploring the frontiers of digital technology, Roland CEO Jun-ichi Miki, who also happens to be an engineer, best encapsulated the company’s vision in a 2019 interview on the occasion of the JUPITER-X and JUPITER-Xm release. For more information, please visit: https://www.roland.com/global/products/mc-101/ Watch video. Roland MC-101: Sampling Over USB Knob Layout: While the Circuit’s sequencer and all-around workflow can be fantastic for beatmaking, the macro-based knob layout can be a challenge for live situations. Needing to jump between the performance and mixer views was a particularly common hiccup I encountered, which could cause live acts to prefer other devices with more single-purpose controls. The MC‑101 and MC‑707 have an almost ridiculously powerful digital synth engine at their heart: Roland's ZEN-Core. Each instance of the synth has four layers ('Partials'), all with their own Oscillator, Filter, VCA, LFOs and Envelopes. Oscillator modes include a classic virtual analogue with many shapes, all of which can be pulse-width modulated. There's also a super saw and a noise mode. Then there's a PCM mode, greatly increasing versatility by allowing sample-and-synthesis sound design. But there's more: Oscillator cross modulation is available between partials 1-2 and 3-4, with X‑Mod, Ring and Sync modes!

RGB pads allow you to produce your own original music with tactile input of drum, bass and synthesizer parts. At the surface level, the Syntakt and MC-101 are both similar in that they’re both an interesting combination of groovebox, drum machine, sequencer, and synthesizer. But they’re also very different from one another.

Roland MC-101: Editing Drums Lastly, it’s more power efficient and can more easily run off of a powerbank and birdcord (the Syntakt will require a more potent PD-compatible powerbank). But yes, it may be a slightly better fit for me. The sounds coming from the Digitone are equally otherworldly to my ears, but in a more pleasing, nuanced, rich way. It was my gateway drug into hardware about two years ago and I still kind of regret selling it. En este descargable podrás encontras 5 ritmos: Salsa, Cumbia, Merengue, Norteño y Reguetón cada uno con 3 variaciones para que puedas acompañarte mientras tocas tus canciones favoritas de estos géneros. Furthermore, the Roland MC-101 is part of an expandable platform so you can add new content for constantly evolving performance. Powerful Sample Player
