About this deal

Namely, MoonDrop wasn’t satisfied naming theses pretty IEM solely with a random assortment of numbers, letters, and hyphens. Interestingly, the KXXS actually has slightly more energy around this region, lending to a slightly brighter presentation. Here comes the part that may sound like a paid advertisement Actually I cannot say anything negative about the sound. Very soft, flexible cable with four conductors that are braided below and twisted above the y-splitter.

Actually I’m using the Creative Aurvana Air, but even if I love the details it gives, I found it too flat and weak in mid an high range (maybe for the really poor source, my smartphone).

Now is the part most people are interested, it's a warm neutral signature, pretty versatile for most genres of music and media, bass has a controlled and forward presentation, not the most correct for all situations but works well with the rest of the tuning, mids are a bit recessed thanks to a bit of gain in the bass but it's nicely represented, full, both male nd females vocals sound good, acoustic guitars sound really good also, highs come forward ad clear, what gives it a detailed sound without being tiring over time. Compared to a “flat” tuning, this particular tuning has more elevation in the bass range and treble. The Starfield is hardly moderately responsive to alteration on the low end and requires a fair bit of added dB down yonder to start hearing a difference. Overall the midrange is transparent and uncolored, (and most noticeably) without excessive warmth or thickness.

I’ve been using both of them and my choice went to Moondrop Starfield, the IT01 has a lightweight housing with a fun tone, the mid is recessed but not too far, anything left is so far great with a single DD. In fact, I’ve spent hours listening to YouTube rips of my favorite guitarists because the experience is just that pleasant. My previous EDC which is BLON BL-03 tends to sound compressed in busy tracks but that's not a problem with Starfield. The nice thing about using a dynamic driver is that you don't get any of the dreaded "balanced armature timbre".In my opinion, because it is such a small universal IEM, this should fit the majority of general consumers exceptionally well. To say that Moondrop has had a meteoric rise over the past two years would be quite an understatement. Different from KXXS's sharp, wide, accurate sound field and super clear analysis, Starfield pays more attention to loose, delicate, soft, stretched sound and excellent quality at the same time, achieving a delicate balance between balance and musicality. I really liked how Heavy Metal and Pop sounded on these, metal had the speed and aggression needed to make it sound good and engaging, and thanks to the bump in sub bass and bass area Pop songs sounded engaging and fun, Acid jazz also worked pretty well, sounding full and detailed, overall i found a really engaging IEM to listen, not the most correct a few times, but is always fun, overall the tonality is really good and i think most people will be happy with it.
