The magic of the Encanto has blessed every child in the family with a unique gift from super strength to the power to heal—every child except one, Mirabel. I appreciate the added perspectives compared to the movie, it allows for more depth the story desperately needed. Ruiz Cano voices the Tiple Maestro, an unseen tiple player who can be heard asking where he put his tiple when helping to set up for Antonio's ceremony and is later heard informing Luisa that the donkeys got out again. it was a really quick read, due to it's simple writing style - it is a children's book after all - though i gotta admit, sometimes the writing was just poor and a little bit repetitive (i don't think i've ever read the word "chasm" this often). Film 's Josh Spiegel thought Encanto included a mixture of formulaic aspects from many of the previous Disney and Pixar films, and failed to make them unnoticeable. The book is not bad but all Characters are really mean and there is almost nothing of the family warm from the movie.
