I picked up this book, just for a break from usual reading , as short stories is something that i like to switch over to at times. In ‘A lesson in Ingratitude’, what she conveyed was a fair point, but I completely disagree with the way that point was put across. In the pages of these books, she recounts her meetings with some famous and some not so famous people, who taught her great valuable lessons.

Her grandma s strange request becomes the title of the book and the first short story in this anthology. If the author had cut down on the self glorification and the self appraisal on every second page, this book.

Though fictional, most of the stories have anecdotes from the author s personal life, especially her childhood. The account of how her mother's advice to save money came in handy when she wanted to help her husband start a software company, and the heart-warming tale of the promise she made-and fulfilled to her grandfather, to ensure that her little village library would always be well supplied with books. The book, in my opinion, is more than stories because it includes a motivational component as well as maybe important life lessons!
