About this deal

It irritated me the first time it happened and I let it go, assuming it was a character's affectation but when another person used it I wasn't having it ! Covering crime for so long, she watched and was deeply moved by all the ripples each case caused, and the haunting impact on the families, friends and witnesses involved. It’s an odd book about a group of girls who find themselves alone on an island with the option to send only one three-word text message each day to the outside world. There is also a backstory missing about the PI/former Detective that either I missed or was glossed over; and I backtracked to find it. I agree with some of the other reviewers that at times the writing felt like a series of facts being presented, rather then a storyline being built and the facts of the case revealed.

In this controversial and exciting listen, Pollan explores caffeine’s power as the most-used drug in the world - and the only one we give to children (in soda pop) as a treat. At some point I realised that while following a different person each chapter, it was only one character that was in first person. Billionaire Brady Finn's latest business plan doesn't include Aine Donovan, the stunning manager of the hotel he just purchased. This line shows the lack of drama in any of these characters’ lives, the general bore that is suburban, rich, white lives. After a betrayal that sent their marriage into freefall, Hannah and Sam are desperate for a fresh start with their eight-year-old daughter Lily – and where better than picture-perfect Owl Cottage in beautiful Cornwall? The author keeps you guessing, and when you thought you had figured it out, she threw in a curveball! A little girl of 4 is given a letter for her daddy by a nice woman, yet everyone is worries the little girl might have a trauma deepened by this. Harry Potter has never even heard of Hogwarts when the letters start dropping on the doormat at number four, Privet Drive. There's a reason We Are Legion was named Audible's Best Science Fiction Book of 2016: Its irresistibly irreverent wit!

From a well-chosen pink dress in the prologue to blood-red spatters in Chapter 1, this was a frightening opening for me. In this five-part series, US happiness expert and positive psychologist Michelle Gielan and British journalist and author Oliver Burkeman explore ways to become truly happier, backed up by scientific evidence. Nothing I predicted was right, and I feel like the ending came out of left field and wasn’t even that good of a twist? The Greatest Secret, the long-awaited major work by Rhonda Byrne, lays out the next quantum leap in a journey that will take the listener beyond the material world and into the spiritual realm, where all possibilities exist. Given the distance and bodily damage, I thought a long gun, but police say the shooter used a handgun. But when she stumbles and falls on stage during the ceremony, a beautiful moment turns to chaos: Gemma has been shot, and just like that, she's fighting for her life. I feel like it heightens the suspense and gives you an insight into what makes them tick, even if it is quite dark and disturbing. Teresa Driscoll is a former BBC TV news presenter whose psychological thrillers have sold more than two million copies in twenty languages.
