Description

The Wacom Pro Pen 2 offers amazing precision and control, reacting to the tilt of your hand and accurately responding to each movement. Beyond how it looks, though, you're paying here for the pen input and how the pen-enabled panel feels to use. Quite heavy, not ideal for travelling with - if you do want something you could move around maybe go for 15 inch but this still wont be as flexible as an iPad would be. sits to my left (since I’m right handed) and it’s pretty comfortable to use while I rest my palm on the desk/palm rest and my elbow on my chair’s arm.

This would be fine if this were a general-purpose or entertainment monitor, but it's a little low for an artist's display, particularly as designers tend to work relatively close to their monitors, sometimes at a precision touch-up level. The Cintiq Pro line comes with the same pen, although the Pro’s advanced drawing surface allows the use of soft felt nibs. I measured the Cintiq's brightness at 143 nits (candelas per meter squared), lower than its 210-nit rating, and calculated the contrast ratio at 726:1, short of its 1,000:1 rating.Say goodbye to unnecessary smudges, fingerprints and minimize friction from hand to screen or pen tablet. Experience precision pen performance with a slimmer form factor for Wacom MobileStudio Pro, Wacom Cintiq Pro, Wacom Cintiq and Wacom Intuos Pro. Tutorials on popular software applications will help you get the most from your new creative tablet and software. It’s a better solution than in the Cintiq 16, which uses foldable legs that tilt the display to a fixed angle.

The Wacom Cintiq 22 brings a large-screen creative pen display within reach of art students and budding artists on a budget, and it's a good entry for those who want to edit with a stylus rather than a mouse. While that technical difference sounds damning, bear in mind that the Cintiq 22 is able to present 96% of the range of colours supported by the sRGB colour profile, which many designers and illustrators apply to their images by default. I travel enough that I would opt for a smaller model, and would probably spring for the Cintiq 16 Pro, which costs the same as the Cintiq 22 but comes with the additional Pro features. The quoted gamut for the Cintiq 22 is 72% NTSC, which puts it in the same league as a budget monitor. Because the Cintiq 22 is nearly identical to the Cintiq 16, which I’ve reviewed separately, I’ll only briefly list the specifications and features of this version.
