Description

Not much to write home about with the Massdrop box presentations. It is quite standard, just a cardboard box, some paperwork, and a ¼ adapter are included along with a short, portable length detachable cable for the HD58x.

Also I'd like to mention that I think the HD6XX is still a good headphone. Also that the difference was so strong most likely because I don't put in the effort to listen. Still tho, it's impressive that I don't have to try now. Also sorry about the long post.

Unlike the HD6XX, the Sennheiser HD650 is not much recent and has been around for a while. And it has achieved a certain amount of popularity among both professional and domestic users. It has very easily fitting oval earpieces and the whole model is really smart and completely no-nonsense. Sound - Lesser bass slam, midrange is a bit boxier than Fenestrated Sheepskin, smallest soundstage. Each kind of music, be it 70’s guitar tunes, pop music, or saxophone music, or even beautiful music that comes out of violin strings, all can listen in a perfectly detailed way with this.

I wouldn’t have any second thoughts of getting rid of the 660s, but the 600 and 6xx… I don’t ever want to part with either. A truly legendary headphone series for a reason. I can absolutely see why some may prefer the HD600 over the HD6xx, and I love them both. However, I could absolutely do without the HD660s. I've never truly loved them, but hearing the other two made me disappointed in the HD660s even more. I don't regret buying them, and they served me very well, but... I paid at least double for them and the return on investment just isn't there. Live and learn!

What does the Drop x Sennheiser HD 6XX use for connection?

The HD6XX model of Sennheiser was released in 2018, which is considered an update of the HD650 model. It has a price of 220 USD, which is actually very reasonable, about which we will talk about later. It weighs 9 ounces approximately, and sadly it doesn’t have waterproofing features. About HD6XX Specifically, we’re talking about warm and rigid bass, a midrange that dips close to the ruddy colors of analog tape saturation (without sacrificing an ounce of detail), and a laser-tight response up top that helps illuminate vivid clarity and granular instrumental texture across the board. So yeah, they sound pretty good. In this headphone, the little unevenness there is in high-frequency sounds causes mostly by similar sounds and cymbals, with which one will get used to soon. The transients are well defined and crisp, and their decay into ambiance happens naturally. The potential dealbreaker here is in the treble response. With its neutral lower midrange and relatively light note weight, its 5k-ishHz boost gets a little intense and harsh at times. Now you’ve probably already read some impressions on the HD560S and this peak; some say it’s completely benign and not worth the worry. Others claim it’s the worst thing in the world and will pierce your ears with the might of Zeus.

On the headband there is a foam padding, which prevents pressure pain as far as possible and allows wearing the headphones for a long time.

Total Pageviews

If you use the HD6XX with mobiles, you may not get the sound you want. So, it’s a better idea if you keep using it with your desktops and laptops only, which can bring in the great audio output. Sound System and Quality And there are so many great headphones from different brands currently available in the market, from which you can choose the one perfect for you. And you should be careful about choosing the headphone as different kinds and models of headphones offer different things, and you should choose the one according to your need and spend your money on that. The HD6XX can easily provide a pleasing audio experience as it offers a nice mixture of an amazing and warm sonic quality and near clinical dedication to the originally rendered recording. And all these have made this signature dynamic-driven headphone the best of both the mentioned worlds. Disclaimer – The product was provided to me free of charge for the review in exchange for my honest opinion. Me personally? I take a more moderate position. My initial listens with the HD560S had me noticing the more forward upper-midrange/lower-treble quite a bit, especially since I was comparing directly with the HD650 at the time. But as I compared with more and more headphones, it was far less egregious than other models which had far more destructive quirks handwaved off by the general populus. Make no mistake, the HD560S is no HD800. Or DT880. Or any other mainstream Beyerdynamic, really.

The set creaks a little too much for comfort, but that was again an issue on my Massdrop HD6xx that stopped almost entirely after a few hundred hours of usage. The same will happen with this HD58x. It is quite comfortable when I put it over my head and ear. It covered all over my ears and the soft velvet(?) is pretty comfortable. It is a little bit tight but not as tight as M50x. I won't feel uncomfortable for several hours. Compared to ATH AD1000x and AKG K7xx, it is tighter than those two.

Modifications

As HD6XX is an upgrade from HD650, it might have some upper hand, but both are great in their own ways. So, you can choose any of them for your audio needs. They won’t disappoint for sure if you deeply care for audio quality. As a result, it might not give the sound you want if you connect it with your phone. It will be good to use with computers, however, you will still need an app for that so that you can get the exact sound you need. Disclaimer : All my words are based on my own experience with senn hd6xx. My own feeing is biased and possibly quite different from others . :) which I fully recognize and respect. Tl;dr: I dont know if there are compromises in the manufacture of the Sennheiser HD6XX because its crowdsourced and potentially built to a different price point to the HD650 its based on.
