If they wanna have a long drawn out reveal, do it after the kill, have it scream at the ceiling or howl or some such thing, " Mr DeMille, I'm ready for my close-up. The dialogue is sharp, witty and frequently littered with profanity ("So if Red Riding Hood shows up with a bazooka and a bad attitude, I expect you to chin the b**ch! The transfer used on the US edition was not great dark and grainy, unlike the German edition very crisp image compared to the US counterpart. A group of soldiers dispatched to the Scottish Highlands on special training maneuvers face their biggest fears after they run into Captain Ryan – the only survivor of a Special Ops team that was literally torn to pieces.

Scream Factory has revealed that it plans to release a Collector's Edition 4K Blu-ray of Neil Marshall's Dog Soldiers (2002), starring Sean Pertwee, Kevin McKidd, Emma Cleasby, Liam Cunningham, and Darren Morfitt. The comparison to James Cameron's "Aliens" with its colonial Marines is a valid one, because these gritty British squaddies can more than hold their own while doing battle with their lethal foes, and keep their sense of humor throughout the combat.

AQUAMAN AND THE LOST KINGDOM The DC Super Hero’s Action-Packed Adventure Debuts on 4K, Blu-ray, and DVD on March 12th! He solved the problem of how to create convincing transformations by not bothering to show them at all, and Dog Soldiers is none the worse for lacking any—in fact, it’s arguably better, because that helps to maintain the mystique surrounding these particular werewolves.

Well that's a debate that could last a very long time and certainly his second feature film 'The Descent' should be thrown into that equation too. For those on the fence about an upgrade, I would certainly suggest you go for it, there are enough new extras to go for, and I honestly do not see there being a better release of the film than this one coming. Sam McCurdy’s lighting and the director’s eye for claustrophobic camerawork (would become so much darker in The Descent) means we are right there in the thick of the action.

Filmed in 2001 and released in 2002, Dog Soldiers is the film that put director Neil Marshall ( Centurion, The Descent) on the map for movie fans. Marshall was clearly still learning his profession but looking back on 'Dog Soldiers' two decades later still brings a massive smile to my face. tweaked the actual palette that much in the 4K UHD version, though there seemed to be a somewhat wider range of green tones in particular. I’ve always said that Marshall’s greatest strength as a horror/action director is that he makes the violence not only count, but he actually makes it look like it hurts too. You’ve got the always welcome deleted scenes and gag reel, which is obviously grainy for the time it was shot, plus more insight from Special Effects artist Bob Keen, as well as a deeper look at the Cabin/Cottage in the Woods, and the creation of that, with Production Designer Simon Bowles.Sex still equals death in Dog Soldiers, but it takes a different approach since it’s more interested in the male body than the female.
