The Shorrock family have been producing this cheese since 1923, and Andrew has been making the bomb since the mid 80s when a friend moved to America and begged him to send some cheese. Vintage Cheddar, Ham and Pea Risotto is an ideal for a mid-week dinner with a rocket salad or some steamed greens. The majority of our products are perishable so we advise they should be chilled as soon as possible once delivered. Lamb Hotpot, or Lancashire Hotpot, is a delicious traditional stew made from lamb with onion and potato.

When the cheese is at room temperature there is nothing quite like taking a sharp knife, removing the top off the cheese (a bit like you would a boiled egg) and scooping out the smooth cheese with a spoon. Originally Andy made just one cheese in the shape of a bomb and gave it to a friend who was emigrating to America (what the American immigration officials thought about this who knows!
