The build and make of this amp is superb. It’s not made out of metal but the darn thing feels sturdy like something we would have played with as kids in the 80s…and I still have toys that survived like this. Personally, I think it’s simplicity makes it look like a mean little machine. I mean it looks like it means business…feels that way too.

Usability is one thing I really like about this amp. It’s simple and enables you to easily tap into every feature of the amp.Boss claims that the battery on the Katana Mini lasts for about 7 hours. In my testing batteries lasted 6-8 hours.

The delay is awesome…absolutely trippy and awesome. Who cares if it doesn’t have reverb it has DELAY!!! You can get a reverb pedal…overdrive pedal…whatever. Absolutely not! It’s what you can expect at this price. Besides that, the handle is large and firm enough. There is a minor con with this handle, which I’ll talk about in the “Portability” section. Simple feature but all you needed (im a demanded guy actually, Tone knob only doesnt satisfy me, minimum must have 3-band EQ. different amp types: Clean, Crunch, and Brown (read ‘Distortion’). A single 3-way switch is provided to change between the amp settings. Buy the Katana Mini and you won’t be disappointed. In fact, you will be really happy with it unless you’re one of these audiophile it has to be perfect kinda guy.The Boss Katana Mini only has a single effect – Delay, and it has two controls for the effect: Time and Level. Here’s my favorite one – a 3-band EQ (Bass, Middle, and Treble knobs) that really gives this amp extra tone shaping capabilities. A lot of the budget amps tend to skip this one! Please Note: The Boss Katana Mini does not come with a mains power supply, the recommended power supply is the RolandPSB-1U.

All you need to do is set the delay time to zero and crank the level to near-full. Technically, this is a rapid echo that goes on for a long time, but it sounds very similar to reverb. THE CLEAN CHANNEL and all the channels are excellent in my books! I don’t know what kind of a guitar the reviewers were using but my Fender Player Plus Stratocaster rings like a bell through this thing in all the channels. Try dialing it in a little better there boys lol. For me it is a toy, which plays much better than I would except from the toy of that size. I am using it mainly in my house when I want to play not in the room where my standard amp is standing (i.e. in my son's room when I am putting him to sleep, this amp is perfect for this purpose). I have heard a lot about Katana's, so I gave this guy a try when I was looking for a practice amp for a small apartment. I was a great surprise!! I could not be more happy. It has a really nice clear sound, and great volume. But what surprised me it was the overdriven sounds. For low volumes, it truly delivers a nice round warm overdriven sound, that makes you enjoy practicing. Its really simple to use, and even have some on-board effects for even more fun while playing. It uses plastic everywhere without any fancy appointments. The only off-center addition being a couple of thin plastic strips and the “Boss” logo on the front.On the other hand, if you need to boost the already overdriven sound coming out of it and take it to the modern metal territory, then pedals will definitely help. How Long Do Batteries Last in Boss Katana Mini? And bar a few exceptions ( looking at you VOX!), you can expect average build quality and feel at best. The same applies here, too. Well, I believe Boss knew that as well. This is not the amp you want to drop or leave it lying on the stage at your next gig.
