Description

There is an evidence base which shows a strong correlation between literacy levels and health outcomes. After escaping from prison, the infamous Jack Door is determined to find the missing treasure of the book’s title. Masih seperti buku sebelumnya, isi buku ini digambarkan dengan detail, membuatku mudah mengimajinasikannya dengan sangat jelas. This experience has been fantastic primarily for the children, the school and also for me (professionally).

With the police baffled by Jack's tricks, it falls to Lily, Robert and Malkin, to thwart his criminal schemes. I don't want to say too much as I don't want to give anything away because I feel like it's better to find things out as the characters do. Lily has a mechanical heart and this leads to inner conflict as she tries to determine whether she is human or not whilst subconsciously questioning what defines human. This time the focus is more on Robert, who finds a mysterious moonlocket and has to find out what the link is with his mother and the rest of his family. I still found that Lily annoyed me a little at times, but in the end, she is a child, and children do have a way of believing that they know best and they NEED to do things to help the situations that arise.

Thank you so much to North Star Editions/Jolly Fish Press who sent me an ebook through NetGalley to review of MoonLocket written by Peter Bunzel. They come first and it is essential to put the right book into the hands of every child to encourage them to read for pleasure.

I came to adore Robert quite a bit in this story, as I said above, it's focused more on him this time and Lily takes a bit of a backseat which was nice. These books are meant for children, and I so wish I could have read them as a child because everything would have been even more thrilling; I cannot wait for the next adventure.Peter grew up in London in a rambling Victorian house with 3 cats, 2 dogs, 1 little sister, an antique dealer dad and an artist mum. The story has a similar great mix of mystery and adventure, a fast pace, and creative steampunk world-building. As a child he found inspiration visiting TV and film sets, where his mum worked as a costume designer. We have a handful of new characters in this book, with most of the loved ones from the first book being retained as well (Captain Springer, Mrs Rust and the others, I'm pleased to report, were just as wonderful here). Furthermore, it kind of discusses the same topics as the previous book, that is friendship and loyalty.

The book gets dark and violent sometimes, which was good because I often find middle-grade books writing about, for example, a dangerous man who has killed someone yet he barely harms anyone in the book. There was just the right amount of choice to suit everyone without being overwhelming and I received comments from parents and staff about the quality of books offered compared to previous sales which have always been based around current crazes and well known celebrity authors. There is a mystery at the heart of the story, which Lily and Robert have to solve, concerning the Moonlocket. A fun steampunk adventure as two best friends and a mechanical fox try to stop a criminal mastermind, Jack Diamond. I received a copy of this book from the publisher, Jolly Fish Press, and the author via netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This second book was just as adventurous and action-packed as the first; I love the steampunk elements and the covers of this series!
